Existing Chinese coal plants running at 50% capacity and China aims to close 1000 coal plants this year, but some provinces are still building despite orders to stop

There have been mixed messages coming from China lately. The country’s carbon emissions may be declining more than a decade earlier than anticipated, thanks in part to reductions in coal power.
