New York City, Los Angeles, Reno, Stockton, Seattle, and San Francisco have committed to 100% battery electric transit in the next ten years with more to follow. This is not only because of emissions reductions but also because the total cost of ownership in the twelve-year life of a bus will save $150-200,000 per bus. In New York City, with 5,700 buses, this amounts to an annual savings of $71 million. —¬†Smart Cities Connect 31 Aug 2018
