Health and climate benefits from California’s cap-and-trade are over 5 times greater than the program’s costs, with many benefits unaccounted

Cap and trade in California: health and climate benefits greatly outweigh costs.

The report, authored by Dr. Marc Breslow and Ruby Wincele, looks at California’s cap-and-trade program and its investments – it finds that health and climate benefits from California’s cap-and-trade are 5 times greater than the program’s costs. We hope that it can give us valuable data, and leverage in the ways we talk about and advocate for carbon pollution pricing and other climate programs in other regions of the country.

Costs and Benefits of Implemented Programs

I hope you can help us amplify these findings! I am attaching here the link to the report, a 1-pager that goes over the main findings (or here is our Tweet if you can reshare).

We are also hosting a webinar at 3:00PM ET today that will go through the report’s main findings, as well as the public health benefits of pricing carbon pollution.
